Safety Policy
The adventure is real, the risk is what we control. Here's what we apply on every ride.
Last updated: August 2026
Before setting out: mandatory briefing
All participants receive a 10-to-15-minute safety talk: handling the buggy, braking, distance between vehicles, guide signals, and behavior on muddy or sandy stretches. No one heads out on the route without this briefing.
Safety equipment
- Certified helmet for driver and passenger.
- Protective goggles against dust and stones.
- Seatbelt in every seat and rollover bar.
- Daily mechanical check of brakes, lights, and tires.
- First-aid kit and radio in every group.
Requirements to participate
- Drivers: 18 years or older with a valid driver's license.
- Passengers: from age 6, always with a responsible adult.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not permitted.
- Not recommended during pregnancy, back or neck conditions, heart conditions, or recent surgeries.
- Closed-toe shoes required.
During the tour
Each group is accompanied by two guides: one leads the line and one closes it. A minimum speed and distance between buggies is maintained, and the guide may stop or change the route due to heavy rain, unstable terrain, or unsafe behavior from a participant.
Emergency protocol
- The guide stops the group and secures the area.
- First aid is applied using the vehicle's kit.
- Immediate transfer is coordinated to the nearest medical center in Bávaro or Punta Cana.
- The emergency contact provided at booking is notified and the incident is recorded.
Insurance
All tours include accident insurance for participants. Damage to the vehicle caused by improper use or failure to follow the guide's instructions is the driver's responsibility.
